What do one do when it's time to move on to another place and she's tired of meeting new people while traveling solo? The answer is that she decides to meet up with someone she met for about ten minutes two months earlier. Thank you Facebook for making it easy to stay in contact with people.
Since Malaysia was my next country to visit I lobbied for meeting up in Kuala Lumpur. So with fingers crossed that I would actually get on with the person in question, I left Koh Tao and headed south one early morning. The gamble paid off and I had an excellent time with great company, a borrowed apartment close to KLCC, good food/wine and chilled vibes! Here are some random take aways from the days spent in KL.
Third week in to my regime of getting back some sort of fitness at Koh Tao CrossFit. I'm pleased to say that I'm defiantly feeling a difference. Ok, my upper body strength might not be my strong point but at least my high intensity endurance is recovering towards acceptable levels quicker then I thought it would... The coaches and the members at the box/gym has defiantly helped the motivation of ignoring the thought of skipping the work out of the day because of tiredness or not being in the mood, such a great bunch of people!
Celebrated my full month stay in Koh Tao doing what I do most of my days here, minus the work out and adding some more indulgence of food and laziness... I said it before but will say it again, just because you travel doesn't mean that you have to do and see things at all times. There will also be plenty of days like this!
Ok, maybe not any blood or tears but certainly a lot of sweat and frustration has been produced the last couple of weeks...
If you read any of my previous posts then you should know that I'm currently on a holiday from my holiday and I'm staying in one place and one place only for a month. And why is that you might ask yourself? This question has a very easy answer and it is as follows: Walking up a long hill getting out of breath and having my shorts getting tighter and tighter around the waist has given me the hints on how out of shape i've gotten. Since I still can't run longer then about 3 km because of my dodgy knee and my half hearted attempts of going to different gyms and keep it going has failed for the last 9 month, I knew I had to change my tactic in the work out department! That's when CrossFit came to mind so after consulting Google and having an inner conversation with myself I decided to make Koh Tao my home for a month and sign up with Koh Tao CrossFit.
I decided that it was time for a career break. So handed in my notice to the company who I worked with for the last ten years. It's time to pack my bag and depart from Amsterdam which been my home town for the last 4.5 years. -"Amsterdam, it's not you it's me and I need a break!". Read more
