I had three weeks in Mexico and left already two and a half weeks ago and still I haven't done a single post about it... Lazy, that's what I call that so here we go, felt I had to to write at least something and sorry to be repetitive but this will be another one about food. But as you know, food is one of the best things in life!!! This time I will tell you what to eat, not where to eat when not eating tacos in Mexico.
I'm very sad to say that the best meal i had during y month in Medellin was burger and chips at Chef Burger. No discussions, came out on the absolute top. This place had amazing service, great atmosphere and a couple of tables set up in the way that it was perfect for a meal for one. I had the Mexican which came with lettuce, guacamole, cheese, jalapeños, two sauces on the side and some beans on the side. I choose chips as a side, you can also do wedges or cheesy chips or nothing. Both the burgers and chips are made from scratch at the restaurant and the chips even have the skin of the potato left. It all was soon good.
Price: COP 18 900/ EUR 5/ USD 5.50 only had water to drink
Where: Circular 76 Laureles
Would i go back: Without hesitation
So far I haven't really ventured outside the Laureles area for food. Their are plenty of places here though so not sure why I should venture further, there are everything from small cafes, Street food to fancy restaurants. Saying that though; my philosophy is that you haven't experienced a place until you had something to eat there. I have surprised myself that I have cooked a lot at my Airbnb but maybe that's because it has a great kitchen.
One thing is for sure, I will have no problem keeping to my budget in Medellin. That is if I continue to be good and kind of staying away from the wine!!
I decided that it was time for a career break. So handed in my notice to the company who I worked with for the last ten years. It's time to pack my bag and depart from Amsterdam which been my home town for the last 4.5 years. -"Amsterdam, it's not you it's me and I need a break!". Read more
