Did a big clean up of my phone last night and came across a few pics that made me realise that there are a few things that i do miss from back home in Amsterdam. On the other hand it also made me realise that there are certain things i can't say that i miss!!!
Regular exercise: Last year I ran a total of 1000 km, so far this year I done 87 km. Thats less then what i did in the last week of December in 2015..... Ok, I guess this one is something i can do something about now when my knee seems to hold up. One thing is for sure though, my personal training sessions I had in the autumn are now a distant memory.....
Prosecco: Who would want a cold beer when you have the choice of prosecco??? oh do i miss prosecco at times.
People: Ok, i be honest and admit that i miss far from everyone but there are some I do miss. This includes friends and some ex co-workers... Not sure if its good to do a top three i miss but here we go. Please don't feel excluded if you my friend and haven't made the list, I most likely think about you to at times as well:)
Favorite hang outs:
Clothes: Having the choice of completely dressing up. Ok, to be fair this might not be one of my most common outfits, even if the dress is in two pictures in this post, but i do once in a while miss to have a bigger choice of a wardrobe and that includes a nice dress and heels.
THINGS I CAN'T SAY I MISS FROM HOME...
The rain and wind: Love Amsterdam on sunny days but the winters can be very depressing when the only thing you have is darkness, rain and wind for a couple of months.
Cleaning, washing up and changing bed sheets: I do miss cooking sometimes but one thing I'm happy without is doing the washing up afterwards. Same goes for cleaning, changing bed sheets and doing laundry. The actual putting the laundry in the machine is not so much of hard work but its what you have to do after. Hang it to dry, fold it or put on hangers and put it away. I don't mind when i have to do my own bed at the hostel which happens about 5% of the time but it is nice not having to do it and getting your bed sheets changed if you stay for more then three nights!!!
Work: I thought i would find it harder not to work but at the moment I love not having to set my alarm for the morning. I love the freedom of being able to kind of do what ever i want on any day of the week. I do kind of have a plan on what i want to do when Im back so yes, my ambitions are still there but at the moment is so nice not having any responsibilities!!!
They do not live in Amsterdam but I do miss these two once in a while especially the one to the right, big sorry to you in the middle. And who are they??? My sisters of course!!!
I decided that it was time for a career break. So handed in my notice to the company who I worked with for the last ten years. It's time to pack my bag and depart from Amsterdam which been my home town for the last 4.5 years. -"Amsterdam, it's not you it's me and I need a break!". Read more
