I'm very sad to say that the best meal i had during y month in Medellin was burger and chips at Chef Burger. No discussions, came out on the absolute top. This place had amazing service, great atmosphere and a couple of tables set up in the way that it was perfect for a meal for one. I had the Mexican which came with lettuce, guacamole, cheese, jalapeños, two sauces on the side and some beans on the side. I choose chips as a side, you can also do wedges or cheesy chips or nothing. Both the burgers and chips are made from scratch at the restaurant and the chips even have the skin of the potato left. It all was soon good.

I was supposed to go to another place the night i went to Ay Caramba, but in the end i couldn't find it. Walked passed Ay Caramba and it looked busy but something told me that it wouldn't be amazing. But since it was busy i didn't listen to my gut feel, so went in. Was in a rib kind of mood so that's what i had together with a fresh lemonade. Only the ribs was COP 33 000 so had very high hopes on good ribs since this is kind of very expensive for ribs here. Food came in and oh was i disappointed, could tell by only looking at them that they would be dry. The ribs was served with some lettuce and some not so fried chips. The only thing that was good with the mea was the fresh lemonade. They did serve some good looking cocktails but i never tried one. Most people in the place were drinking cocktails so might be a place that you go for that. Still very overpriced.

Street food is amazing, either it be in south east Asia or anywhere else in the world. Cheap and tasty, the way to find a good one is just to check where the locals hang. I had two different i use to visit, and the meat and taste was great. One of them only did Chorizo and pork, the chorizo was served with nothing else then the chorizo. The pork which was a delight, so juicy and tender, was served with an arepa and two potatoes. What else do you need?! oh yes, they did have some ketchup as well. This place is part of a small corner store and its only open Friday-Saturday eves. Very busy and very chilled place to sit on a small plastic chair trying to speak to the others there. It's all about how good your Spanish is when i say try to speak.
The other place only do ribs and empanadas. Again, the ribs are so good. Tiny but meaty and nowhere near to dry and you get a good portion. With the ribs you get a tiny bit of salad and an grilled arepa with cheese, another thing i just fell in love with. The place is not as busy as the other one but always some people there. Also these people are interested in talking to you so ensure you load up on Spanish and some good body language.

I was recommended Flora by several different people. When i say several different people i mean 3 but still... Most ingridients from the menu are organic and the menu is kind of based on build your own. You can choose either salad, sandwich or pasta. You then have to choose your ingredients and choice of sauce. Really good concept and very pretty menu, regret i didn't take a picture of it.
I went for the tortilla (one of the sandwich options), together with beef, cheese, palmito, what i believe was artichokes and something i don't have a clue what it was, as sauce i went for Aioli. To drink, a passion fruit juice. The food was nice but way to rich, but i did choose cheese and aioli so maybe my own fault.

Most restaurants have what they call a "menu of the day", this normally includes a soup for starter, a hot meal, a fresh juice and in some places also dessert. I have so far only tried this twice and wasn't very impressed. The menu is normally cheap so it's kind of; you get what you pay for. I tried a cuban place called La Bodeguita Havanera and a French place called Paris Paris. I'm not the biggest fan of crepe, mostly because i can't pronounce it, so not sure why i went to the french place. I'm not going to go in to details on what i ate, just check out the pictures. Guess both places are good if you on a stricter budget and want something rich and filling. Service at Cuban was not good what so ever. Service at French place was really nice. Owner is french and really chatty.
Just realised that i lied in above text, i did have "menu of the day" also at Naturalia a place i wrote about in part 1. Naturalia is perfect for menu of the day, not heavy and you also get the best dessert.

I passed La Catrina Cocina Mexicana on the way to one of the outdoor gyms and it had me intrigued from start. Cool decor and it looked like a not to busy place but there was always some people there. I ordered the "gringa", thought that was appropriate, didn't have a clue what it would look like when it arrived but sounded nice with chicken, cheese, cilantro, sour cream and guacamole. To drink i ordered the Mexican. Think it was strawberry, lemon and sugar, tasted nice and refreshing anyways. Food arrived and it was tasty!!! Even though the food and drink was tasty and I'm happy i went, i still feel something was missing. Not sure what though.

Me and my Spanish teacher went to Bigotes Pizza for a beer one afternoon and i was impressed with the atmosphere. Everyone around us ordered pizza but we had already eaten so we stuck to beer. But a few days later i went back by myself. I mean if literally everyone around you eats pizza then it must be good. This despite the place market themselves as a German pizza place:) The pizzas here are deep pan, i ordered the smallest they had with chorizo, bacon, cheese, cream cheese and onions. oh was i full after i finished half. Wasn't as amazing but deep pan never is!!! Service is friendly though and the beer i had was good as well. Ok, i did have a rose beer so its not beer beer. They play an interesting mix of music as well, everything from Rammstein to some mix of Colombian and German October fest music. The place is in a very quiet area of Sur Americana, well worth the trip here just to enjoy a drink or two. Few different bars/cafes to chose from.

Just had to try Hacienda since its said to have the best Bandeja Paisa in Medellin. I wrote about Bandeja Paisa in my part 1 on where to eat. Me and Dann my former Airbnb house mate went here after we visited Comuna 13. Both was starving so we agreed to go here. I was well impressed by the menu, this was printed like a news paper, nice detail. It was no need to check the menu though since we knew what we wanted. We also ordered a beer and a juice each. I ordered a beer just out of pressure, since thats what you do a sweaty warm afternoon. Dint really drink beer but had a nice surplice when i took my first sip of a Club Colombia. The dish arrived and sure it was a bit better then the other two i had but if this is the best then I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of Bandeja Paisa:) You can get similar one cheaper else where with nearly the same taste.
