I managed to stay in summer and spring like weather for over a year but then I got the brilliant idea of going to a freezing cold and snowy Canada for a couple of weeks. After all it's not that of a big detour flying up there first on the way to Guatemala instead of going straight from Mexico. Ok, that's a tiny lie, but hey it was good timing to go and see Canadian Boy one more time before heading south in Central America and then finally return to Amsterdam. 19th of January 2016 was the date when me and my 40 liter backpack left Amsterdam and traded work life to travel life. This is one whole year ago, in this writing moment it's even a bit longer but that's because I haven't got around to do this post earlier. Some days I feel like I left yesterday and some days I feel like I've been gone forever. I had my ups and downs but the ups have definitive been more then the downs. Why is it that you always come across great secret Santa gifts when you don't need one, for example it's in the middle of the summer or you just not involved in any secret Santa malaki a year?! This post might be a tad late with X-mas eve being tomorrow and all but felt a bit festive today so thought I share some quality gift suggestions with you. Did a big clean up of my phone last night and came across a few pics that made me realise that there are a few things that i do miss from back home in Amsterdam. On the other hand it also made me realise that there are certain things i can't say that i miss!!!
